EDUCATION ART PRIZE: Congratulations to Year 12 Visual Arts student Molly Fung, who recently entered her ceramic work into the International Specialist Education Art Prize competition and has been successfully selected as one of ten finalists.  Molly has been invited to attend a ceramic workshop along with the nine other finalists, which will be held by the celebrity ceramicist Keith Brymer Jones.  We wish Molly all the very best with the final.

HOUSE COLOURS DAY: On Monday 3rd of February, students from all year levels are invited to come into School dressed in the colours of their House (Arenal – red, Barva – green, Irazú – yellow, Poás – blue).  On this day, there will be several House themed activities including the selection of House Captains in Primary, House Assemblies and the annual House photos.

SCHOOL SWEATERS CLARIFICATION: As mentioned in last week’s bulletin, an official school sweater will be available for purchase from our uniform supplier, Tonka, in February – we will inform you when it arrives at the store.  However, we would like to clarify that the official school sweater is not a mandatory requirement for the remainder of the 2020 school year.  As such, students at all levels may continue to use any navy blue sweaters that they have.

COURSE OVERVIEWS: As was mentioned in this week’s ‘Back to School’ evenings, members of our community can now access course overviews for all year levels and subject areas by clicking on the following link: https://sites.google.com/bscr.ed.cr/course-overviews/home    [If this link does not work immediately, please try later]

PARENT COUNCIL: We would like to invite any parents who are interested in representing their year level in the 2020 Parent Council to please send an email of interest to dberridge@bscr.ed.cr by Tuesday 4th of February.  We welcome applications from parents who served on the Parent Council last year as well as any parents who would be interested in joining the Council for the first time.  Please click on the following links for a position description and more details about the application process:
