SECTION: Secondary School (11 to 18 year old students) 

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Head of School 

CONTRACT: National / International

Main Responsibilities

Coordinate the effective administration of the IB Diploma CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) Programme 

  • Coordinate the effective administration of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Programme.
  • Coordinate the effective administration of the School’s House Programme.
  • Coordinate the effective administration of the School’s Secondary Student Council.
  • Support academic and non-academic staff members in the planning and delivery of experiential learning activities.
  • Support the School’s Service Learning Programme.
  • Contribute to whole-School and co-curricular activities.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records in accordance with school policy.
  • Prepare quarterly reports for parents and for the Administration as required.
  • Comply with all of the School’s policies and regulations – specifically those relating to discipline, risk assessment and health and safety.
  • Maintain and organize the School’s outdoor activities equipment.
  • Support the preparation for, and attend the Year 5 camp.
  • Prepare and administer the annual IAW budget.
  • Ensure that students and supervisors are trained in using the Managebac platform components related to CAS. 

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential Desirable
A recognized qualification in Outdoor Education or a closely related discipline.
First Aid qualification.
International Award Leader, Coordinator and/or Assessor qualification
Experience Essential Desirable
At least 2 years’ experience working in Outdoor Education, preferably in international schools.
Recent experience of working with the I.B. Diploma C.A.S. programme.
Recent experience of working with the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award programme.
Professional Skills, knowledge and Understanding Essential Desirable
Fluency in English.
Some knowledge of Spanish.
Able to engage with students and to engender enthusiasm for learning.
Comfortable using a range of I.C.T. including the Google platform.

Have effective communication, organization and time management skills.
Be able to manage own workload effectively and respond swiftly to tight deadlines.
