WEEK IN REVIEW: The staff of the BSCR were delighted to welcome back multiple year levels this week to in-person and virtual learning, following the four-week mid-semester break.
The third Quarter promises to be a very busy nine weeks as we look to continue with our Dual Learning programme. We are already looking forward to our Health and Wellness Week, starting on the 30th of August, as well as a virtual visit by our accreditation agency, The New England Association of Schools and Colleges, in the last week of the quarter. We would like to wish all members of our Community a happy, productive and healthy third quarter.
SERVICE PROJECT – YEAR 5:This semester, Year 5C are working in conjunction with the Yo Impulso Foundation on a service project donating bicycles to students from indigenous communities and rural areas so that they can travel to School. If any member of the Community would like to donate a new, or a used bicycle that is in good condition, to this project, then you can drop it off at the front of reception between the 27th of July and the 6th of August.
ATHLETICS MEDALS: We would like to congratulate André García (Year 11) for helping Costa Rica achieve second place in the Campeonato Centroamericano y del Caribe NACAC 2021. André won a silver medal in the men’s, U18, 400 metres and was a part of the relay team that won bronze in the men’s, U18, 4×100 metres.
TREMAINE DANCE FINALS: We would like to congratulate Leila Campabadal and Alisa Kierszenson for their wonderful performances at the prestigious Tremaine Dance Finals in the USA. As a part of their dance academy, Danceworks Costa Rica, Leila and Alisa performed dances in a number of categories including Hip Hop, Contemporary and Ballet. The girls helped Danceworks Costa Rica to a number of 1st place finishes including ‘Performance of the Year’.
SUBJECT TUTORIALS – SECONDARY: We are pleased to offer the following subject tutorials between 3pm and 4pm each week, free of charge. Students should contact the relevant teacher in advance if they want to take advantage of this opportunity. Tutorials may be virtual or in-person depending on which students are on campus that week:

HEALTH AND SAFETY UPDATE: In order to ensure the ongoing safety of our students and staff members, we respectfully ask all members of our community to please ensure that they comply with the following traffic management procedures while they are on campus:
- Students who travel by car may only be picked up or dropped off in the designated area in front of reception. Students are not permitted to enter or exit their vehicle while it is queuing in the entry lane by the Bus Depot.
- The use of facemasks is a mandatory requirement at all times while on campus, including for those members of our community who are waiting in their cars.
- Mobile phone use while driving on campus is strictly prohibited.
- Community members are asked to fully comply with all instructions provided by our traffic management team while on campus.
