CAS PROJECT:  One of our Year 11 students (Fabiola Jiménez) is currently working with an orphanage in Moravia as part of her CAS service project.  She is collecting old clothes, coloured pencils, and toys, in good condition, for children from the ages of 0 to 10 years.  Anybody who would like to contribute by donating any of the above may do so on Friday 23rd of November.

TRANSITION MORNING: On Monday 26th of November, Early Years and Primary students will spend the first session of the day meeting the teachers of their new year group and doing activities in preparation for next year.  Students will stay in their current classes, with class lists being released in January, as in previous years. They should wear their full school uniform.  Year 5 students will have an extended PE lesson as they had their Secondary school induction last week.  School finishes at 12:00 pm for all students.

FINAL DAYS: On Tuesday 27th of November, Early Years and Primary students are not required to wear school uniform.  Students in Years 3, 4, & 5 should dress appropriately for their trip.  On Wednesday 28th of November, Early Years and Primary students are not required to wear their school uniform.  Year 5 students, however, must arrive in full school uniform ready for their graduation ceremony.  The ceremony starts at 8:15 a.m. sharp.

SCHOOL UNIFORM 2019: Parents are reminded that all students are required to wear the School’s official school uniform.  Updated uniform lists and materials lists are available from Reception, if needed, and uniform items are available from Tonka in Escazú.  Shoes must be all black.  We have recently relaxed the requirements for shoes allowing trainers and other types of shoes, but these must be all black with no other colours.  We will remind parents again during the Back to School Nights early next year, but wanted to ensure you had ample notice for the purchase of the correct shoes during the holidays.

KICKBALL TOURNAMENT: The final of the Kickball Tournament will be held on Monday 26th of November, between Irazú 1 and Barva 1.  Teams have been earning house points for winning as well as participation which will go towards the school-wide house point totals.  Congratulations to all of the students who participated and a special thank you to Teachers Jorge and Gerardo from the PE department for facilitating the event.

PRIMARY LIBRARY:  The Primary Library would like to ask for the collaboration of parents/guardians in ensuring that all library books that are currently on loan from the Library are returned no later than Tuesday the 27th of November.  All students who currently have a book on loan have received a message from the library in the last couple of days.  Please note that fines will be applied to any books that are not returned before the holidays.

In addition, the Primary Library would like to take the opportunity to thank all the students and parents who participated with great enthusiasm in the various quizzes and competitions that were held throughout the year.  We hope that next year we will have similar levels of participation.  Happy holidays to all!
