Staff Training Day
On Friday the 24th of February, our staff members participated in a number of different professional development activities aimed at supporting our Strategic Plan objective of ‘Developing Professionals’.  The day started with a ‘Coffee with the Community’ activity where all members of staff shared experiences and perspectives with staff members who work in different sections of the School.   After which, our Early Years and Primary teachers participated in several STEAM focused interactive workshops, facilitated by our STEAM partner Tecnikids. Meanwhile, our Secondary staff participated in a number of internal professional development activities focused on topics such as, promoting language development, facilitating effective group work and formative assessment strategies.  Thank you to all participants and facilitators for all of their hard work on this day.

Cultures Week
This week all Early Years and Primary students have been focusing on different cultures, from around the world, in preparation for the International Fair on Saturday.  So far we have seen students start to learn Chinese, German and Portuguese; we have had English tea parties, students have researched art from around the world, national songs and dances have been learned; and we have also had some of our parent community join their classes to read stories from different cultures. This has been a wonderful opportunity for students to learn a little more about all of the many cultures that make our world such a diverse and exciting place.

House Football Tournament
Our House Football tournament is nearing completion. Our Year 3 to Year 5 competition is now complete after Irazú defeated Barva in the final match. The game was end to end and both teams had many chances to score. However, the game was won with a superb long range goal from Josué Ortega from Year 3. The Year 1 to Year 2 final games will take place next week.

Lost Property
We would like to remind parents that all lost property that is named will be returned to the child.  All unnamed lost property is collected for children to look through at a designated point opposite the entrance to the Primary Library.
