Secondary Changes in Dates 2020

Other News and Updates

Dear Secondary Parents,

We hope that this email finds you and your loved ones healthy at this challenging time.  We are writing to inform you about some important changes that we will be making to our assessment structure in Secondary for the first semester in light of the extended working from home period.  Taking into account the academic and health needs of our community we have decided to hold our first semester exams after the mid-year holidays.  This means that the end of first semester exams which are usually taken by Secondary students in June will now be taken in July.  In summary:

For all Year Levels 6-12 (except Year 10)
Now until Friday 12th June:  Regular classes (either online or in person)
15th June to 10th July:  Mid-year holidays (no classes)
13th July to 24th July:   Regular classes
27th July to 31st July:   1st Semester Exam Week
3rd August:   2nd Semester begins

For Year 10
Now until Friday 12th June:   Regular classes (either online or in person)
15th June to 10th July:   Mid-year holidays (no classes)
13th July to 17th July:   Review Week
20th July to 31st July:   IGCSE Mock Exams (also serve as end of 1st Semester Exams)
3rd August:   2nd Semester begins

Additional information

  • Semester 1 reports for all year levels will be issued within 2 weeks after the completion of semester exams (approximately 15th August)
  • Not all subjects will have semester exams.  In some cases, students will be completing project work as part of their assessment for that particular subject.  Students should consult with their teacher for any questions related to how they are being assessed

Thank you for your understanding and please do not hesitate to let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
