Preventing the Spread of Respiratory Illnesses at School
We are writing to remind you of the importance of preventing the spread of respiratory illnesses, especially during this time of year when viruses are more common.  As you know, the well-being of our students is our top priority. Therefore, we kindly ask that you keep your child home from school if they are exhibiting any symptoms of a respiratory illness, such as fever, cough, sore throat or nasal congestion.  By keeping our sick students at home, we help prevent the virus from spreading to other children and staff.  We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a healthy school environment.

STEAM Week in Primary
Last week we had an amazing week filled with creativity, independence and STEAM. The students enjoyed every step of the process and the exhibition of their projects on Friday. As a closing activity, we held an awards ceremony where students were presented with medals and certificates. We are proud of each and every one of our students for the hard work they displayed over the course of the week. Photo / Photo / Photo / Photo

World Television Day
November the 21st is World Television Day and for that reason the Primary Library, Teacher Lidia Gutiérrez, the IT Department, Digital Leaders and the Primary Student Council are working together on a project encouraging students to create a TV Show that is made by children for children.  It is important to clarify that it is not mandatory for children to take part in this project; they are free to decide if they would like to create different performances (videos), be part of the technical production or be part of the audience.

In the next few days we will share more information such as: names of students who will take part in the project, topics and sections of the TV Show, guidance on how to produce a video and scripts, and other technical requirements that are required.  As a first step, every class in Primary is working on a proposal of the Name and Logo of the TV show. Next week, children will vote at the Primary Library to choose their favourite.  Our objective with this project is to motivate students to be creative, work as a team and use and share their knowledge, abilities and talents with other people.  Please, take a look at this presentation for more information on this project.

NHS Food Collection Initiative
The National Honour Society has launched a new initiative in partnership with the school’s Service Learning programme to celebrate World Food Day, which took place on October 16th, and the International Day of Older People, October 1st . The initiative is a food collection programme to support the San Antonio de Padua Geriatric Residence, where many elders are in great need of help. The residence has a goal to collect 160 food diaries (basic food packages) by December 10th. The aim of this activity is to collect as many non-perishable items as possible and provide much needed support to this community. The food collection began on Monday, October 21st and will end on Friday November 1st.

We would like to invite all members of the community to participate in this activity.  The collaboration can be any of the following items: rice, beans, sugar, salt, oil, coffee, milk, canned tuna, galletas soda, galletas maria, spaghetti, sauces, and juices. Donations can also include personal hygiene products such as: toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, soap, shaving cream, body cream, and razors. Items are being collected at the Head of Secondary’s Office. Flyer
