Primary Library
As the school year will soon be coming to an end we would like to ask all students to please return all books you haven’t returned yet to the Primary Library. Children can return their books during their Library Sessions or during break times. All those books which have been returned damaged, or have been lost, will be charged to the parents (parents will be charged the cost that the School incurs to replace the lost/damaged book).

We would also like to provide you with a brief update about our tv show project: we hope to finish recording and editing all videos next week and we look forward to sharing with our community the link so that everybody can  watch the TV Show in the final few days of the school year.

Secondary

TOK Exhibition
We would like to invite all Year 11 IB and Year 10 parents to next week’s Theory of Knowledge Exhibition, which is taking place from 8:10 am to 12:00md  on Tuesday 19th of November.  The exhibition is an activity where our students demonstrate their understanding of knowledge issues and their ability to share their perspectives, insights, and discoveries.  It also provides our community with a valuable opportunity for intellectual exchange among parents, students, and educators as we honour the hard work of our TOK students over the last six months.

University of British Columbia Visit
On Monday, November 4th, Year 11 IB students and a group of Year 12 students attended a presentation by a representative of the University of British Columbia about pursuing university studies in Canada, with a particular focus on UBC, one of the top 20 universities in the world. The presentation highlighted the advantages of studying in Canada, available study programmes, admissions requirements and processes, as well as types of financial aid available to support studying in this destination known for its high-quality education.

SAT (for Year 10, 11 and 12 students)
The next SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) will take place on Saturday, December 7th, at the school. The registration deadline is Friday, November 22nd. The test fee is $111, payable online. For more information on 2024 test dates and deadlines, please visit the International SAT Dates.  The SAT is now digital, and students are allowed to use their own computers or tablets. Service Learning Project Y6
During the last few weeks, Y6 students carried out their Service Learning projects “We grow together through play and solidarity” and “Animal welfare and responsible pet ownership”.
Y6A and Y6C had the opportunity to visit the Jesús, María y José Home located in Rincón Grande de Pavas, where they shared games and activities with the children of this daycare center. Through this project, they positively contributed to the development of the children and donated items to meet educational and health needs. Y6A worked with nursery-age children, while Y6Cinteracted with children from fourth to sixth grade. This experience helped to strengthen the empathy and solidarity of our students. (Photo / Photo / Photo / Photo)
Y6B Service Learning project focused on promoting awareness of animal welfare and responsible pet ownership. Through a guided tour of the Animales de Asís Shelter, students learned about proper animal care, the importance of responsible adoption, and how to prevent abandonment. Additionally, this project included a donation campaign for the shelter’s more than 350 dogs and 18 cats, which helps to continue and improve the work of this animal protection space. Service Learning Project Y8A – Y8B
Y8A and Y8B students participated in a Service Learning experience with Hogar Sol, an organization that works closely with the Patronato Nacional de la Infancia to care for and house children at social risk and in vulnerable situations. During the project, the students contributed to the work of protecting children in situations of abandonment, abuse, and aggression. Sharing with the children of Hogar Sol not only allowed them to better understand the main needs and risks faced by this population, but also to actively contribute to their well-being and growth.
