UPDATES AND NOTIFICATIONS

COVID-19 UPDATE: Due to the rapidly changing nature of the COVID-19 escalation we will be sending a daily update at 12 noon to parents using the email address registered with Reception.  Please make sure you check your email daily to ensure that you receive the latest information.  If you have any questions, concerns or comments related to COVID-19 please email us on covid-19@bscr.ed.cr.

CANCELLATION OF EVENTS: In line with the recommendations provided by the Ministry of Health, we regret to announce the cancelation of our Early Years parents visiting classes next week and the Student Council dance which was scheduled for 26th of March.  For the time being, and until further notice, we will be operating a closed campus, meaning that there will be strict restrictions to campus access and staff members will not be permitted to take students off campus.

D.E.A.R.: Early Years and Primary students will be having a D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything and Read) activity between 8:05 am and 8:30 am on Thursday 19th of March.  This activity is to promote reading for enjoyment throughout the school.  The children are invited to bring in any reading book that they like to read for enjoyment; books can be in any language.  We hope to have a D.E.A.R activity every quarter from this point forward with parents also being invited to participate in future activities.

UNIFORM EXCHANGE: At the end of 2019, a joint initiative by the Parent Council and School’s Administration saw us launch our first Uniform Exchange campaign.  In total, 296 pieces of school uniform were donated with 224 of them being picked up by other parents for re-use this year.  Leftover shirts were re-processed via Clorox de Centroamerica’s ‘Zero-Waste-to-Landfill’ programme while leftover trousers were donated to the Pavas Hogar de Niños Jesús, María y José.    We would like to thank all community members who contributed to the success of this programme with special thanks going to Mónica Volio, Roy McKee & the Eco-Committee, Rebeca Castro, Pilar Díaz, Alexandra García, Adriana González, Irene González, Daniela Kesselman and the Parent Council for their efforts in making it such a success.  If you have any comments or feedback about this initiative please let us know on monivolio@icloud.com.
