WEEK IN REVIEW: Week 34 has proven to be a very busy week as our students prepare for the final few weeks of the year.  In our Early Years and Primary levels, students have been submitting their Talent Show entries while also preparing for this Friday’s Reading/Pyjama Day.  Secondary students, meanwhile, have been busily preparing for their end of year exams, which will take place over the next two weeks.

IBEROAMERICAN MATHEMATICS OLYMPIAD: Congratulations to Nicole Lipschitz (Year 11) on achieving a bronze medal at the Iberoamerican Mathematics Olympiad.  The Olympiad had participants from 23 different countries in the region.

FARO ASSESSMENTS: We would like to wish the best of luck to our Year 5 and Year 10 students who will be taking the mandatory Ministry of Education FARO (Pruebas Nacionales para el Fortalecimiento de Aprendizajes para la Renovación de Oportunidades) assessments next week in the subjects of Spanish, Maths and Science.  This is the first time that British School students have taken the new FARO assessments.

HOUSE GAMES – PRIMARY: We would like to thank all Primary students who participated in the House Games during each lunchtime this week.  Highlights included obstacle courses, relay races and a range of physical challenges.  Thank you to all staff members who helped facilitate each of the activities.

YEAR 11 GEOGRAPHY TRIP: On Wednesday the 3rd of November, Year 11 IB Geography students visited Ciudad Colón to undertake some fieldwork.  It was an enjoyable experience for all involved as the students investigated a local river in order to collect primary data for their Internal Assessments.

HEALTH AND SAFETY: As part of our ongoing sun safety management procedures, we would like to remind parents to please ensure that their children bring the necessary sun protection to school each day to ensure that they are protected from the sun’s rays.  This includes an appropriate sun hat and sunscreen that is SPF 30 or above.
