 Primary Math Olympiad Team
Good luck to our Primary Math Olympiad Team on their first round of the COLIBRI National Primary Math Olympiad competition on Saturday, 30th of July at the Anglo-Americana School in Concepción de Tres Ríos!

Parent Communication
Over the course of this semester, we are evaluating the effectiveness of Tapestry, Dojo and other forms of communication to Primary and Early Years parents. We would greatly appreciate any feedback to your respective class teachers regarding the usefulness of these platforms. We are very keen to upload class information and photos though we want them to be beneficial to you.

Last quarter we also sent a link to our Early Years and Primary Art website; we would also like to know if this information is helpful or of interest to you.

Extra-Curricular activities
Our new semester of clubs and extracurricular activities have now begun. As a reminder, any students taking part in sporting clubs will be able to change from their school uniform into their sports kit after the school day ends.

Lost property
Our collection of water bottles and blue sweatshirts continues to grow. We endeavour to return all “named” items to students. However, all items in our lost property are not named. We would greatly appreciate it if you could check that your child’s school clothing and water bottles have their names on them.

Ley Penal Juvenil – Presentations
During Monday and Tuesday of this week, Year 6 and Year 7 students had the opportunity to participate in a talk on “Ley Penal Juvenil” given by the Judge of the Tribunal de Apelación de Sentencia Penal Juvenil, Licda. Marianella Corrales Pampillo. The students were able to clear up all their doubts about how criminal proceedings are carried out for minors, what is a crime and what is not, cybercrimes, how to report and, above all, how to prevent crimes. The students showed great interest and asked a variety of questions about the topic. We thank Doña Marianella for her valuable time and we hope that she will visit us again this semester, this time with Year 8.

SAT 2022
The next SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) this year is on Saturday, August 27th 2022 at the school. The registration deadline is Friday, 29th of July, 2022.  The test costs $98 and should be paid online.  We recommend that students who register for the first time to take this test coordinate a meeting with Ana Lourdes Baumgartner, University Counsellor, to complete the registration procedure.  The SAT is a standardized test, administered by The College Board, which many universities around the world, but especially in the United States, take into consideration either as a requirement or as an optional part of the university application process.   Should you have any question please contact Ana Lourdes at abaumgartner@bscr.ed.cr.
