School Bulletin 3 – 11th of February 2022

School Bulletin

Week 3:

Week three at The British School saw us move to the next stage with the implementation of our new Chromebook Programme.  As part of our strategic plan objective of ‘Promoting Technology’, all students in Years 3 to 5 were issued with a Chromebook this week.  This provision, coupled with the fact that over 85% of our teaching faculty are now certified Google Educators, means that technology is increasingly being effectively integrated into teaching and learning in all curriculum areas.

Elsewhere, this week also saw the restoration of lockers into our Secondary School to assist students with managing their belongings as they move around campus during the day.

Change of Exits at 3.00 p.m.

As part of our mission to maintain the school as safe a place as possible for our students, we have decided to change the exit point for those students in Years 5 up to 12 who possess a Gate Pass and leave the premises unaccompanied at the end of the school day.

As from next Monday the 14th of February, these students will be required to depart via the small gate at the East end of the Early Years (Kinder) area after showing their Gate Pass to the person supervising that exit.  They will be expected to leave the school premises immediately via the East Gate. Such students (possessing a Gate Pass) will not be permitted to leave the School grounds via the West Gate.

We would remind parents that, in order for their child to be granted a Gate Pass, they must sign a standard letter, which releases the school from all responsibility once the child has left the School premises.

Upcoming Dates:

We would like to remind parents that the BSCR Community will be celebrating Friendship Day on Monday the 14th of February with a number of different activities.  Students from all levels may come to school dressed in either red, pink or white on this day.

On Friday the 25th of February, there will be no classes for students in all year levels because that day is a dedicated professional development day for staff members.
