Staff Farewell
This week we will be saying a sad goodbye to Andrei Kulyk, our Director of Sport. Unfortunately, circumstances back in Nicaragua means that Andrei will be leaving us to re-join his family back in Managua. We thank Andrei for all of his contributions and wish him well on his next steps. Moving forward, Jesús Montero (jamontero@bscr.ed.cr), our new Extra-Curricular Coordinator, will assume responsibility for managing our Extra-Curricular Activities Programme.
New Campus Update
We are pleased to share that the School’s Architectural Team are in the last stages of finalizing our plans and are aiming to present the construction plans to CFIA this December (the ¨Pre-Proyecto¨ has already been presented). The process of collecting the permissions to present to SETENA are also in the final stages as we retrieve the remaining documentation that they require. To assist us with this process we have hired an external company to help ensure we fully comply with SETENA’s requirements.
Early Years and Primary
Lockdown Drill
On Wednesday of this week, all Early Years students took part in a “Lockdown Drill”. This important emergency procedure practice was very successful and the students all did a wonderful job of staying safe and hidden during the exercise.
Primary Talent Show
We would like to remind all Primary students who would like to participate in the Primary Talent Show, on September 9th, to please send a 1-2 minute audition video to Mr. Evans (mevans@bscr.ed.cr) before the end of August.
Admissions
We are presently very busy with School tours for prospective Early Years students for the 2023 academic year. Please do remind any friends to not leave it too late to contact the School (admissions@bscr.ed.cr) if they are interested in joining our School Community.
Secondary
IGCSE
This week our Year 10 students started their IGCSE Mock Exams in preparation for their real exams starting at the beginning of Fourth Quarter. At the same time, our Year 8 students made their initial IGCSE subject choices for when they begin the two-year “Cambridge Assessment, International Education” courses in Year 9. Science Fair Rescheduling
Due to its proximity to our Independence Day celebrations, we have made a slight change to our Year 7 & Year 8 Science Fair. The Fair will now take place in the School Gymnasium on Tuesday 13th of September rather than Wednesday 14th of September as was originally published. We apologize for any inconvenience this change in date may cause.
