Green Week
Next week the British School Community will celebrate Green Week with a number of activities aimed at promoting environmental awareness and sustainability. The Student Council is organising a range of events including a recycling competition, an Eco-Block competition, a photography competition and a recycled jewellery competition. On Friday of next week, all members of our community are invited to come to school dressed in green in return for a suggested donation of c500. All money that is raised on this day will be donated to the Costas Verdes Foundation, which focuses on restoring coastal ecosystems Costa Rica (https://www.amigosofcostarica.org/affiliates/costas-verdes).
Early Years and Primary
Learning Trips
On Wednesday Year 4 went to the Río Torres to take part in a Community Service project. Though this was hard work, they all thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being involved in a project to help their community.
Next week, Year 5 will be watching a live performance at the National Theatre in San Jose while Early Years 1 will be visiting Centro de Alto Rendimiento LDA to learn about the importance of exercising.
Parent Teacher Meetings
You will soon be receiving information about our 3rd Quarter Parent meetings, which take place during the last week of the quarter. This quarter we will be able to offer in both person and virtual meetings for your convenience. More details will be given in two weeks.
House Flash Mob Activity
As part of our “House” activities programme to develop Collaboration and Teamwork each House will be performing a “Flash Mob” Dance on Monday; do not forget to check out Dojo or Social Media later in the day.

Science Fair – Date Clarification
Further to our message in last week’s bulletin we would like to clarify that the Year 7 and Year 8 Science Fair will be on Wednesday 14th of September in the School Auditorium as was originally published and not on the 13th of September as was published in last week’s bulletin. We apologize for the confusion surrounding the date and location of this activity.
